White goods cos log 30-40% sales in south

BANGALORE/AHMEDABAD: Consumer durable majors appear to be digging for gold in southern markets. Even the new markets in the western region are contributing significantly to the sales of white goods majors. Though the north India continues to remain the bread and butter market and ensures high offtake of entry-level products, south has many more takers for high-end products. For most companies around 30-40% of their sales come from the south.

Cities like Vadodara, Surat, Indore and others in the West are boosting their sales, forcing companies to increase their outlets and service centres. Driving the growth in these markets are factors like high customer loyalty, awareness of latest technology and high disposable income…..
