ISB Designs Special Programme for SME’s

The Indian School of Business is organizing a special executive programme for SME's that will equip them to stay competitive in the present global business environment. This programme will be held at three different locations, Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai during February 2008 (17-19, 21-23, 25-27 respectively)

The programme is being offered by the Centre for Executive Education at the ISB in association with the Wadhwani Foundation and the National Entrepreneurship Network. It is designed for heads/ owners of SME's, advisors to SME's and entrepreneurs aspiring to go global. The programme will be led by team of expert faculty both from India and abroad

With a rapidly changing globally competitive environment, especially with the opening up of the Indian economy, there are increased opportunities as well as challenges for the SME's in India. They now have to contend not only with domestic companies but also the international companies. To be able to compete with such competition, they have to make changes in their processes and practices to be able to respond to the business scenario and customer demands. This programme will help SME's to be prepared and overcome these challenges

Participants will learn how to evaluate business opportunities, and implement a sustainable business model. Additionally, they will network and gain insights into the dynamics of global growth and manage their SME' s successfully and grow into a into global player.

The course will focus on

  • Assessing potential global opportunities and the components of a global strategy
  • Understanding the Industry Structure and the factors influencing competition
  • Defining and international entry while leveraging regional advantage and the existing network
  • Building and forging  alliances and honing Cross cultural negotiation skills

This programme will be particularly helpful to SME's from fast growth sectors such as auto components, textiles, food processing, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and engineering.
