MTNL Launches IPTV and Video Phone Calling Service

IPTV has been in the news for some time and so has been MTNL’s association with the same. Now MTNL has finally launched IPTV service in association with Aksh Optifibre Ltd. They have launched a service called Aksh-Tel, an internet protocol television (IPTV) and V Spyk, (a video phone calling service) in partnership with For Rs 499 per month. MTNL subscribers can avail of services such as IPTV, VOIP (with 50 free calls) and 50 MB broadband services.

Dr K.S. Choudhari, MD, Aksh Optifibre said “With the advantages offered by Aksh- Tel and V Spyk, the services can potentially reach over 4 million consumers in Delhi and Mumbai”

MTNL had recently launched mobile tv in delhi and also on the IPTV front Reliance and Microsoft had made a joint announcement not too long ago. It does seem that the IPTV battleground seems to be hotting up with tie ups happening all over the place.
