Workers has no right to disturb the peace of organisation

–Contributed by Legal Buddy

Workers generally think that they have an absolute right to strike. Workers are employed by employer and an employer – employee relationship exists between them. The workers have the right to demonstrate but it does not mean that they should do it during working hours in the premises of the establishment and disturb the normal functioning of the establishment. Under the contract of service, one of the main obligations of an employee is not  not to disturb the normal functioning of the establishment.

Though the workers do have a right to express their views but it is not an absolute right to disturb the peace of the establishment. They have no right to stop the fellow workers to stop the work. There are a number of cases where the employers have to approach the courts for obtaining injunctions and the courts try maintain a balance between the interest of employees and employers. Amicable relations  between them are necessary for the development of the organization. In addition the employer should also make a proper mechanism to solve their grievances.
