Standing Meetings at MILAGROW….

Have you ever heard of “Standing” Meetings? Well, this has been found to be a VERY effective way to communicate in Milagrow! Impromptu the boss comes and everyone stands at their work stations with enthusiasm and concentration. This happened on Monday this week after we all returned from a one-week Summer break. The boss walked in (minus his French beard which he had shed during the holidays!) and asked each one what they had achieved/done during their short vacation. It was amazing how each one responded with passion and zest as to what they did during the holidays. Mostly, everyone went to their hometowns to be with family and one or two ventured for a holiday ‘abroad’. Others stayed at home and caught up on pending chores. But to each one it had been a ‘special’ week.

Thereafter, each one quickly reviewed their business agenda and without any fuss we got back our focus of activities right.

This culture of a “standing” meeting – if utilized in an atmosphere of understanding and mutual appreciation can be an effective tool for peers and buddies to interact with. Many a time we celebrate a birthday or anniversary also in this manner – everyone stands around a small dining table and he/she cuts the cake and shares pizzas. Gives a nice warm ‘family’ feeling.

So try the ‘standing’ meeting concept and see how amazingly it works!
